During the African Export-Import Bank's Advanced Structured Trade Finance Seminar，The Federation of Factoring International (FCI), the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) jointly hosted a one-day experience sharing session for the factoring industry on the island of Sal, Cape Verde, on 9 November 2017。

Nearly 100 delegates from African, European and Asian countries attended the conference。Mr. Peter Mulroy, FCI Secretary General, Ms. Aysen Cetintas, FCI Director of Education, and Mr. Spyros Tsolis, Director of the Ministry of Education, delivered keynote speeches introducing the basic concepts of factoring, with emphasis on the significance of factoring for smes。In the case sharing session on cross-border factoring and reverse factoring, participants discussed the dual factoring system and FCIReverse system that FCI will soon open to members。

Presentations from credit insurance industry experts focused on symbiotic relationships in factoring。A panel discussion followed that delved into this symbiotic relationship and discussed the current state of the credit insurance industry in Africa。
